Corkscrew Scissor Takedown

Printer Friendly Version

I have been playing with a few new entrances for scissors. Here is one of them that scores high style points.

the fake trip

reap your leg on the outside of his lead leg to set up this move.

scissor

turn your head around to face your opponent and clip him in the waist with your other leg. make sure you hold yourself up with the posting hand/hands and clip him high. if you clip him low you can seriously injure his knees.

When i was a novice, "Magic" was the only word i said when our teacher showed us such a new technique. The pleasure and the show goes on. Thank you very much.

Heh, Me likey!
Hey, since I can't use heel-hooks (nogi intermediate, gi-blue, ammy mma)... I wonder about a finish rolling back the other way over to the knee-bar. The triangle on the leg would get in the way, but perhaps locking it after. Or perhaps C your body and simply do a straight leg-lock right there.
Way cool, thanks Reilly!

Enigmachrysalis
Reilly, you have to post a stepwise version of that one spinning leg entry from the single leg bait!

BallPtPenTheif
I should give this a shot. Many guys at my gym rely on Osoto Gari as their sweep so this would be a nice surprise to use on them.
