Sprawl drill

Printer Friendly Version

The sprawl drill is nice for developing the reaction and proper form for sprawling. In this picture sequence Seth is standing, Seth could also be jogging in place. Also the attacker is simply shooting left, forward to to the right, he could also do pumps and fakes to make it more challenging.

WOODMAN
Tough drill

Doesn't take much to wear out, only to remind me how slow I can get. Getting racked didn't help much either.

Once your technique for sprawling is solid this is an excellent drill. A method to make it more challenging is to have the person in charge merely calling out the shots. Another thing to do is get back up as quickly as possible. Doing that helps build endurance.
