High Mount

The high mount is a great position for isolating your opponent's arms. In MMA, it is a great position for striking, as your opponent cannot reach your face. The knees are high and tight, and are spread wide for a good base. The hips are pushed in with good posture.

There is surprisingly little weight on him from this position, so be careful if he is not tired, bigger and stronger than you, or both. Especially if you don't get your legs high enough under his armpits.
